5600 University Blvd. SE

Two new energy companies have moved into Mesa del Sol’s University Boulevard building.

MSR-FSR Managed Engineering Services has made the Albuquerque development its flagship location.

Its recent opening marks the completion of a $2 million renovation that includes a state-of-the-art cleanroom. The location also houses strategic partners and a regional service center.

MSR-FSR is online at msr-fsr.com.

CFV Solar Test Laboratory, Inc., is also operating at 5600 University Blvd. SE.

The location houses CFV’s new photovoltaic test center, giving the laboratory more space to conduct safety, performance and reliability testing on photovoltaic modules. The company also provides testing solutions for advanced electrical technologies and promotes the development of new testing methodologies.

CFV is online at cfvsolar.com.

Albuquerque Studios

Available land, proximity to the Albuquerque airport and the incentives offered by the State of New Mexico were among the many factors that attracted Albuquerque Studios to Mesa del Sol. Now fully booked with film and television production, the studios offer 28 acres of full-service, highly specialized facilities for the production of film, television, music videos, commercials and digital media.

The company has invested an initial $75 million at Mesa del Sol, and boasts more than 250,000 square feet of buildings—including six sound stages (with two more in development), wardrobe rooms, dimmer rooms, production and post-production space, ample room for set construction and lighting/grip storage, plus a large backlot. The facility is exclusively managed by Pacifica Ventures, and is home to 42 permanent employees in Albuquerque.

In their efforts to ensure that their clients have everything they require on site, Albuquerque Studios offers a five-star concierge service; the studios have established relationships with a number of local and national service companies, including New Mexico Lighting and Grip (a subsidiary of NBC Universal), Star Waggons, Axium International, Cisco Systems, and First Call Studio Equipment.

Fidelity Investments

Fidelity Investments is also located at Mesa del Sol and is one of the world's largest providers of financial services.

The company's campus houses its expanding Human Resource Services business, which provides corporate clients with payroll, health and welfare, and human resources services.

SCHOTT Solar Inc.

SCHOTT Solar, Inc. occupies a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 80 acres at Mesa del Sol’s Innovation Park. A wholly owned subsidiary of SCHOTT AG, SCHOTT Solar is a global leader in glass and optics and one of the largest solar technology manufacturers in the world.

SCHOTT is the second solar manufacturer to join the Mesa del Sol renewable energy cluster, making Albuquerque its largest U.S. facility. The worldwide company produces critical components for solar thermal receivers and photovoltaic (PV) panels.

Molina Healthcare

Molina Healthcare has broken ground at Mesa del Sol’s Innovation Park for the company’s 25,000 square-foot IT Center, soon to be relocated from the company’s headquarters in Long Beach, California. Molina joins Advent Solar, SCHOTT Solar and Fidelity Investments at Mesa del Sol.

Molina expects to spend more than $20 million in constructing and equipping the facility, which sits on two acres. It will be a one story building and will initially open with approximately 15 employees -- with all but a very few hired from the Albuquerque market. The company plans to seek Silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The Molina facility will be built using local contractors, creating new jobs and generating new tax revenue for the city and the state.

Molina Healthcare, Inc., is among the most experienced managed healthcare companies serving patients who have traditionally faced barriers to quality healthcare-including individuals covered under Medicaid, the Healthy Families Program, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and other government-sponsored health insurance programs. Molina has health plans in 10 states, including New Mexico as well as 17 primary care clinics located in Northern and Southern California. Locally the company has 140 employees at the New Mexico state health plan -- Molina Healthcare of New Mexico.

C. David Molina, MD, founded the company more than 25 years ago, to address the special needs of Medicaid patients. Today, Molina carries out his mission of emphasizing individualized care that places the physician in the pivotal role of managing healthcare.
